Just a day, Just an ordinary day...

Ossu! Here I am! I’m back, Anyone miss me? Nope, no one T_T…

Oh yeah, let’s just get straight to business, shall we? Apparently, my misunderstanding with the 7-11 guy had spread over the entire lab… -___- And it became the talk of the day… Sobz, T_T All my non-existent reputation has just gone down the drain… But on a lighter note, I managed to foist the 20 baht bill onto Ae (A fellow student who is studying for a Masters) to deal with… Thank god, now I don’t have to wreck my brain on what to do with that blasted note…

Life in the lab
today was boring. I have to use all my strength, determination and will just to keep myself from entering a drooling stupor. In addition, during lunch, I had to ask Am (female half of the 2M duo) to buy my honey lemon tea for me from the 7-11 -___-.

But the best part lies in evening when we had our “dinner”. Truth be told, it’s actually a snack, but I got so full that I rather called it dinner. At first, I was online talking to my best friend, Shi Hui, and I got so hungry. So I went to buy a sandwich and came up. The moment I walked out of the elevator door, Eve saw me and beckoned me to the pantry. The moment I saw the variety of dishes spread out on the pantry table, I threw my sandwich onto the side table and proceed to join them.

The few of us gathered around to have what they (the Thais, but it is originally a Viet dish) called “Nem Noung”. I, however, called it the Vietnamese version of popiah. Instead of horseradish, beansprouts, egg, etc, we had banana (the green, unripe ones), lettuce, spinach, starfruit, garlic and cucumber. All of them uncooked, even the spinach. It even had some kind of spicy, “rojak” sauce. As for the skin, its some kind of white jelly stuff that I had no idea what it’s made of…

Going from clockwise, Its Dr G ( I can’t pronounce his real name so I call him Dr G instead), Addie, Eve ( or Evvy, as I like to call her), Dr. Nee (or ONee-San ^^), Tew, Pittun and Kai. A few other colleagues are missing from the picture as they have already gone home. Oh well, their loss. More Nem Noung for me, muahaha.

It was really fun making the “popiah” and then popping it into our mouth. When I first ate mine, a variety of tastes literally exploded in my mouth. Obviously, depending on what we put into our "Nem Noung", it will taste differently. I placed raw banana, starfruit, cucumber and pork balls, into mine with a dash of the sauce. My taste buds are immediately overwhelmed with sourness, spiciness and sweetness.

It was also fun seeing Tew make a “popiah” the size of my fist and eats it o_O. Keyword: Eat. In other words, she succeeded in stuffing the entire thing into her mouth, chew it and swallow it down, to the disbelief of me and Addie (Her real nickname was Adda but I call her Addie). Soon, we finished our dinner and went back to our work. A boring ending, I know.

Still, life is good… *burps*
