CHICK-A-DEE & Steamboat Fiesta!

Aha… I’m beginning to stop updating as often already… Well, not exactly my fault… Friday was smooth-going and so was Saturday…. Oh yeah, found something of interest on Friday that may bore Non animal lovers. It is *drumrolls*

…..

….

A CHICK!

And no boys, not that type of chick that you’re imagining. It’s a REAL bird type chick… and I name it The Chick.

And here are the pictures! Isn’t it cute?? * Stars in eyes*

It's the first time I've seen a baby bird. The Chick happens to be the offspring of the parrot that the security guard downstairs keeps. Apparently, she is giving it to her colleague to rear. Obviously the Chick is of weaning age, as proved by the tiny pinfeathers (hey, I study animals as my specialization). But seriously, other than its baby cuteness factor, the Chick is very loud. Anyway, I saw it during my lunch break, and the guard even let me feed it with some baby formula, bird version. Still, time’s up and I went upstairs to work. When I went back downstairs after work, the Chick’s gone. T_T I’m gonna miss it.

On Saturday though, it’s the same old routine. I met up with Cheryl and went to platinum plaza to shop and bought 1 new black top for 120baht. That’s about SGD $5. And that top so happened to be a really girly top with frills and all. Thus, not very fond of it, but I need a top for some up-coming dinner that mum will castrate me if I didn’t go dressed up nicely (ie: like a girl). The top looks like this:

And yeah, I can picture Shi Hui laughing her head off now… -__- Go ahead, laugh it up… It’s not like your mum didn’t buy such clothes for you either :P. Eileen, on the other hand, might go, “ OMG! Ping! You bought a girly blouse! My Ping Ping is growing up le!” -____- lll

In the evening, we went to have steamboat in a place near Ratchathewei (Check a map if u don’t know where or what it is, I ain’t explaining * bleah*). It was Evelyn’s birthday and hence, the extravagance… All right, the steamboat buffet is only 89 baht per person and not that extravagant, but still… We are poor poor students, in a foreign land and therefore, good foods are hard to come by… ^______^lll Lamer…

IN ANY CASE, we had a rather nice time before Evelyn started to into the topic about how C-Section (anyone know the long name for it?) babies tend to have asthma compared to those who undergo natural birth. And then, she started to go on about the female anatomy and babies and immunity, all of which I can’t write here for fear for mental and emotional trauma. The conversation alone DID traumatize Kenneth, the only guy among us. He was so embarrassed and so red in the face with that “I-don’t-wanna-be-here” look. LOL!! Poor thing!

I guess it was a normal day that ended rather well. So here I am, blogging about this in Sunday afternoon in my lab. Yep, I’m back in my lab. On a Sunday, you wonder. No choice. (a) free high speed internet (b) got a feeling my supervisor will be here, I need to ask him regarding my project (he went MIA for 2 days since Friday) (c) no one using the equipments, or at least, less people using them.

So I guess I have to go right now… My experiment’s finishing in about 5 mins and I have yet to prepare the 2nd part of it. URGH! See u guys around, yeah?

P.S: My mum read my blog and now she's asking to see that 20baht(refer to previous 2 entries) note. Good thing I already gave it to Ae.
