I remember a few weeks ago, close to a month ago, I had applied for 2 degrees in the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). I had applied for the Degree in Business (Management) from rMIT University and the Degree in Communications from University of Buffalo, NY.
At that time, I had really wanted to go for the Communications degree because it was a liberal Arts degree which combines studies from various fields. At that time, I had applied for a degree in Business Management as my Plan B. What better degree to apply for as a plan B than the really popular one that seems to be a shoo-in for me?
But as i checked it out, it seemed like the Comms degree was really far too expensive for me. 60k ladies and gentlemen, compared to the 30k deg from rMIT. What kind of bank should i rob to get that amount of money? In addition, At the end of the day, the degree is still a piece of paper. Should I pay 30k or 60k?
Lastly, up til now, i still have no idea what kind of jobs I can get with a degree in Communications. It seemed a bit like a useless degree to me.
Little by little, i found myself thinking that maybe the business degree is better than the comms deg after all.
Today, SIM send me a letter. It was a letter of acceptance.
I got accepted into the University of Buffalo.
Good god, Now what?
SHould I take a leap of faith into the unknown and go for the degree? or should i wait? But im only given 1 week. Less than that, in fact.
The million dollar question is, Would I be able to get a good job with this degree? Is it worth it?

comms can go into quite a number of area. anything like media, advertising, marketing and communitcations, publication, etc. (you should be able to know more)
if you think degree is just a piece of paper, then you can even drop the idea of taking up a degree. what's the diff between paying 30k and 60k for the almost the same piece of paper?
have it this way; if you dont you to pay a single cent, what would you like to have? which is a better option for you? is there any alternative?
start asking questions. (most of find the answers are already in your mind).
decision is yours, your future is in your hand.
