If I had thought that last Thursday was bad, I hadn’t seen worse. Last night, I OT-ed with WY till 10pm. All because Polaris, the Drill Ship that came to
Hence, WY and me was swarmed with last minute requests. Scratch that. We were literally BURIED by last minute requests. Poor WY has yet to clear her email, which already had 200+ (close to300 actually) emails for just 4 days of leave. O_O 200+! 4 days! Would you believe it?
I didn’t until WY showed me her email inbox. ><
Surprisingly, and not a bit thankfully, WA hadn’t given me any work for the past 3 days.
This was the first time I OT-ed so long, and hopefully, this will be the last time. I really don’t want to repeat the experience. M gave up at around 7 plus and left me and WY to clean up his ass.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Polaris was HIS job – HIS reason to be here in
And M just Upped and left. In the end, me and WY tried to clear up as much as possible. Good thing is, the rig manager for Polaris, NW, was there with us. PRs and POs has never been authorized so fast. I think he remained just to authorized all our paperwork for Polaris. ^_^
It was all I could do to crawl to my bed when I got home. Thank God the taxi ride back was paid by the company.
Surprisingly, today, word of me OT-ing till 10pm spread around like wildfire. Was it really that shocking? The wide eyes of all my colleagues seem to make it so. Even Eileen came to ask me about it. No doubt D, my fellow asst, must have spread it around. She is quite a gossiper.
But the best thing today was the drama that occurred at work. Everyone was working quietly when suddenly a loud "NO!" reverberated through the air.
Startled, I looked over my cubicle only to see DA (Polaris' TSL) agitatedly waving his hands and NW (Polaris' Rig Manager) banging his head against the wall. O_O Wth?
"Wow, Drama! Should we send in some rope?" WA murmured. D and I snorted with laughter.
Apprently, Polaris is scheduled to leave on Thursday instead of on Friday and we are rushing everything. She needed some fittings and nobody can get them done on time. WY managed to cajole a machine shop to do them specially for Polaris somewhere in the early afternoon. NW and DA had been so relieved.
In the late afternoon, one of the Crew Leader called and informed WY that the measurement she had was the wrong ones and asked to change. Boy, was the Machine Shop Owner pissed at this. I heard the conversation between WY and him and it sure ain't pretty.
WY had no choice but to ask the Polaris Manager, NW, and the TSL, DA, who are sitting in the meeting room. And this resulted in the Big Drama.
The whole scenario was so much funnier than what I can describe. Not for the Crew Leader, though. He got fired left and right for his mistake. DA was SUPER PISSED. NW just had a "somebody-kill-me-now" expression on his face.
>_< Oh Dear....
