Hehe… First and foremost…

CONGRATULATIONS, AH BENG KOR KOR! For finally getting married!

Yeah, I just came back from his wedding dinner. He was half drunk when the night is over. Haha… I look forward to his Ang Bao the following year! XD

Now the next question: I wonder which one of us cousins will be next to get married. Definitely not me, though. Not possibly my bro as well, call it the 6^th sense. Big Cousin – Sis is already married. AMK sis is also married, with 2 kids. I bet it will be Shi Ya Jie Jie (Chi for Older sis) or Guo Jian Kor Kor.

Wahaha. I told Shi Ya Jie Jie already. When she gets married, she should make me one of her bridesmaid. XD Shi ya Jie Jie agreed and so, it’s a deal!

Anyway, the older generation was reminiscing about how fast time passes and how we are already grown-up. This prompted me to ask: How did they meet each other in the first place?

Haha, My mum and Dad met in a workplace and things snowballed from there. Mum’s a secretary in charge of handling the admin part of the renovations and Dad’s the foreman in charge of handling the physical parts of the work.

Auntie Annabel and Uncle Gilbert were 21 when they first met, at a party. Auntie Annabel’s classmate was Uncle Gilbert’s army mate. Apparently, Auntie Annabel missed the last bus back at Serangoon Gardens and Uncle Gilbert sent her home. Before she left, he got her contact number. After numerous exchanges (ie. Letter writings and dates), they got married. Aww… How sweet~~

Auntie Laura and Uncle Larry couldn’t remember how they first met. I asked Uncle Larry first and he couldn’t remember. Haha, all of us joked that he’s going to get interrogated back home by Auntie Laura, who also sheepishly answered that she couldn’t remember at all. Aw man…

The way Uncle Bob and Aunt Susan met each other are the strangest. They didn’t meet in Singapore, even though both are Singaporeans. They met in Tioman. Haha, considering that they are both the outdoors type, it isn’t surprising that they clicked, I guess.

Fate has a strange way, hasn’t it? Had Auntie Annabel managed to take the last bus, would she still have met Uncle Gilbert? Uncle Bob and Aunt Susan met outside Singapore when in Singapore, they didn’t and they are both Singaporeans. And I also remember the daughter of Uncle Sado ( Mum’s colleague) meeting her current husband overseas in London when they already knew in Singapore. She left for overseas studies. They lost contact. 2 years later, he flew to London and they saw each other on the streets. Talk about fate…

Are such things destined? If it is, are there gods and higher powers? All things (love, supernatural, luck, etc) point to that. But if that’s the case, why do we bother striving so hard for, since things may be destined? How true is the saying “Believe in yourself, and you will succeed” comes about?

Ah well, I’m feeling instrospective… or as Alyssa says, feeling super-emo. ><
