Yay! Today’s the last day of work in my company (I’m only there on a short term assignment, thank god!) while it is a busy day, we finished work fast enough that I can knock off early.
Uncle R asked me to extend my work there and politely I declined. But in my heart, I was thinking, “I will definitely not work here.”
They pay me 5SGD/hr and work me like a pack mule… Would u wanna work there for this amount? In addition, you are there on a short term assignment and hence, the income’s not steady.
But what’s worst was that the amount of company politics there was enough to give the American presidency elections a run for their money. The Vice-head plays favoritism and her 2 faves are managers who did nothing in the company and become managers based on the vice-head’s recommendation.
Lynn, another senior manager, whom I had a clash-in over the photocopy machine, is NOT a nice person at all (DUH!). The rest of the aunties (yes, it’s all aunties in their 40s) working there seems to be more interested in gossiping than really working. Imagine sitting and working and hearing those old aunties gossiping about men and sex, of all things. What the hell? =.= Coming from OLD aunties… Shouldn't they be gossiping about children, scandals and all those things old aunties gossip about? not SEX, for god's sake... And we are an education-based company, of all things.. =.= AND we are NOT teaching young kids about SEX, are we? My ears (and brain) are scarred...
The only nice people there are Felis, Uncle R., Jason and Uncle Steve. But even then, Uncle Steve is a slacker who tends to leaves things to me and Felis, who are his subordinates. Hence, over work...
But yeah, I had good times and bad times there. 1 good thing is that part-timers have flexible timing. But really, too much work and politics. Starting work in TP as a TSO soon… Haiz… Wonder if I’m good enough for it or not. ><><
