Blogging during work again… But well, Most of my stuff’s done and I’ve cleared my table. So yeah, I’m just slacking right now.
A few days, ago, I’m so excited about going home. Now as I sit in the small cubicle that I shared with Tou, I can’t help but feel a sense of melancholy. After all, I’ve spent 5 months of my life here. 5 months where I’ve slacked, where’ I’ve worked like crazy, where I’ve met so many good friends.
Haiz… No more crazy antics with my Shishou (Jap = Master). No more ‘philosophy’ sessions with her. No more sneaking out for ‘crepes’ with her.
No more ‘teaching sessions’ with Kant, my ‘big bro’.
No more disturbing Addie and begging her for help.
No more hanging out and lunch with Tou and Am.
No more swooning with Tam over Japanese boybands.
No more slacking with everyone else either. (not that it happen often ><)
So right here, right now… I just wanna say Thank You.
Thank you Shishou, for being a great mentor. You taught me a lot, about work and about life. Serious.
Thank you Kant, for explaining to me so many scientific concepts that I didn’t know.
Thank you Addie, for always dropping whatever it is you’re doing just to help me.
Thank you Tou and Am, for being such great friends and tolerating all my nonsense, even though you don’t understand half (almost all) of it. XP
Thank you, Dr Sirawut, for your patience in teaching me and being such a good supervisor.
Thank you everyone in NSTDA’s Molecular Aquatic and Genetics Biology Lab. I didn’t regret my life here with you guys. Not one single moment.
It certainly is hard to say GOODBYE. But well, goodbye is needed for life to move on, for change to happen. Not all hope is lost, as Bilbo Baggins said. If there’s fate, we WILL meet again. There will be many chances for meetings to happen. Be it around street corner or in a café. Besides, Science R&D is a small field.
So, GOODBYE and THANK YOU. A chapter of my life is closed. But a new one is opening. Nevertheless, I’ll definitely remember you guys always.
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
