The new teacher came a few days ago. Her name is S. She is a young indian lady who used to work as an admin asst with DBS Mailroom. Ah, she likes kids.
Seeing her, though, I suddenly felt a sense of loss. Despite being with my class for only 2 weeks, I've started to bond with them. For all the ruckus the little devils create and all their shortcomings and magical ability to drive me up the wall, they also possess an angelic innocence that endeared me to them. Haha, Innocence is the last word i would use to describe them. But in a strange way, despite their striking similarity to adults (politics and whatnot), they really do possess a strange quality that made me want to lead them and guide them onwards in their life.
I want to be the one to help mould their characters and produce good men and women that will contribute well to the society. I want to be the one to impart knowledge to them. I want to be the one they come to when they have problems and needed help.
I guess I finally understood why some will feel a passion for teaching.
And now, even though i can confirm I like kids (thanks to them), I won't have one in the future if i can't help it. I'm not going to have a kid especially when i'm not certain if i can give them the best. Given the standard of lviing in Singapore, I might not be able to raise one. Only when i have secure the necessities to raise a family will i finally have one. By then, I probably will be too old.
Anyway, i digress. Yeap, the new teacher is here and i have to hand over to her. Let's see how she handles the kids first.
